Job summary

Summit Pacific Medical Center is seeking a Cook to join the Nutrition Services team in Elma, WA. You will prepare, cook, portion, and serve food per therapeutic diets and standardized recipes for patients, staff, and guests.

You will maintain food safety, manage portions, support catering and retail operations, and keep work areas clean while following established sanitation procedures and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of six (6) months of professional cooking or food preparation experience required.
• Professional food handling and food preparation experience required.
• Knowledge and understanding of therapeutic, modified, and special diets required.
• Ability to follow diet restrictions, standardized recipes, portion requirements, and food safety procedures required.
• Washington State Food Worker Card required.

Responsibilities

• Open/close duties in the kitchen; assemble mise en place and prepare food per recipes.
• Prepare, cook, portion, and serve food according to recipes and diet orders.
• Prepare patient meals according to diet orders and nutrition procedures; follow diet restrictions.
• Review patient meal info to ensure diet and meal accuracy.
• Provide back-of-house support and maintain par levels; serve during peak periods.
• Support patient and retail foodservice operations including catering and events.
• Assist with catering and events; set-up, service, and tear-down.
• Maintain clean as you go and sanitation procedures in prep areas.
