Job summary

Totally Kids Rehabilitation Hospital in Loma Linda, CA is seeking a Cook to prepare meals for patients, staff and visitors in accordance with menus and recipes. The role emphasizes safety, sanitation and teamwork in a hospital kitchen.

The successful candidate will have at least one year of clinical food prep experience, a valid San Bernardino County Food Worker card, and ServSafe certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Current County of San Bernardino DPH Certified Food Worker card.
• Current ServSafe Certification preferred.
• Minimum of one year of food preparation experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of basic principles of quantity food production, service and sanitation preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must possess good work ethics and a professional image at all times.
• Knowledge of CMS conditions of participation, CDPH state regulations, CCS, and TJC accreditation requirements as applicable to job.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications as applicable to job.
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Works responsibly in a team environment as well as independently.
• Manages confidential information effectively and appropriately.

Responsibilities

• The cook prepares, plates, and serves meals for patients, clients, employees, and guests as determined by the menu, standardized recipes, tally sheets, and special event schedule.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment in the kitchen.
