Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a cook to prepare, serve and forecast all menu items for hospital service periods. The role requires following recipes, maintaining quality, and ensuring foods are served at the correct temperatures and portions.

Education includes a high school diploma with strong English communication. Prior hospital or restaurant cooking experience is preferred, and on-the-job training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent; must communicate effectively in English.
• Previous cooking experience, preferably in a hospital or restaurant environment.
• On-the-job training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all foods, ensuring readiness for scheduled service periods and proper portions.
• Ensures foods are served at proper temperatures and presented to maximize quality.
• Follows recipes and prepares the correct amounts for service periods.
• Reviews menus and communicates changes or special service requirements to staff.
• Maintains clean work areas and supports general sanitation of the food service department.
