Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a part-time Cook at Promedica Monroe Regional Hospital. The role involves preparing, portioning, cooking, and presenting hot and cold items for meals and events, in a fast-paced, safety-focused kitchen.

You’ll follow culinary standards, maintain a clean workstation, and support teamwork to deliver high-quality dining experiences. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, 0–2 years of food-service experience, basic equipment knowledge, and the ability to read

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food in accordance with current applicable standards to ensure high-quality service.
• Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, and serving foods.
• Taste products, estimate food requirements, and check production to plan production and requisition supplies and equipment.
• Significant walking or other means of mobility.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
• Attend work and show up on time for scheduled shift.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
