Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year cooking in hospital or long-term care facility.
• Must obtain ServSafe certificate.
• Knowledge of PCC preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes.
• Follow menus and portion controls.
• Maintain hygiene and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare meals in large quantities per menus and portion guides.
• Record food temperatures and prepare pureed foods as needed.
• Assist with serving meals and maintain cleanliness of serving areas.
• Supervise in the absence of the Dietary Supervisor.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training for dietary staff.
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed.
