The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience, and familiar with pharmaceutical terminology, pharmacy processes, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of hospital pharmacy technician experience.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and pharmacy process.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with staff.
• Basic computer keyboard skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist and other health care professionals in the medication distribution system.
• Prepare new and refilled IV medication orders and compound IV stock solutions.
• Compound TPNs and sterile preparations with aseptic technique.
• Prepare patient-specific doses with correct medication and concentration.
• Label medications properly and ensure correct storage and dispensing.
• Load/refill medications into automated dispensing devices and verify locations.
• Maintain inventory, restock IV room, and monitor for outdated medications.
• Deliver medications to patient care units and communicate with pharmacists.
