Job summary

Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute is seeking a full-time Hospital Insurance Verification Specialist to verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-certifications for admissions or outpatient visits. This onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 8 am–5 pm, with responsibilities including contacting employers and/or insurers to confirm coverage and patient liabilities.

This is an onsite position working Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm.Our Hospital Insurance Verification Specialists are responsible for verification and pre-certification notification and authorization of all admissions and/or outpatient visits. Contact patients’ employer and/or insurance company to verify coverage, and benefits, obtain benefit-level, patient liability, billing address.Must be able to project a professional, pleasant image while interacting with a variety of personalities and cultures. Must demonstrate tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions. Should have strong communication and customer service skills and respect for confidentiality. Must have the ability to plan, prioritize and complete tasks under stress with frequent interruptions.
