UnityPoint Health is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain hospital grounds, perform snow removal, and conduct small engine repairs. The role includes operating and maintaining irrigation systems, cleaning entrances, and ensuring safe, clean outdoor areas for patients and staff.

The position emphasizes reliable attendance, compliance with healthcare regulations, and the ability to work with various equipment (snow blowers, Gator, ATV, power washer) to support hospital facilities and safety

Qualifications

Identify items that are minimally required to perform the essential functions of this position.
One year of maintaining grounds for a facility; two to five years’ experience in grounds preferred.
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities include irrigation knowledge, initiative to improve quality of customer service, and ability to operate motorized and manual equipment.
Able to observe and report repairs to hospital equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.

Responsibilities

Snow removal and spread of salt during winter weather.
Maintain mechanical conditions of snow blowers, ATV, Gator, etc.
Perform small engine repairs such as tuning, oil changes, and carburetor repairs.
Keeps basic maintenance of machine/equipment parts: blades, belts, grease, etc.
Operate and repair irrigation systems and fountains for all properties.
Perform other tasks as assigned by Lead or Supervisor.
As well as being able to do the functions of an Equipment Operator.
