Job summary

Trinity Health MercyOne North Iowa is seeking a Grounds Keeper/Equipment Operator to maintain hospital properties and provide a safe, aesthetically pleasing environment for patients and staff. You will operate tractors, trucks and power equipment, perform routine landscaping, and assist with snow removal according to a predefined plan.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, one year of grounds/landscaping experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.
Post secondary education in mechanical and horticultural fields desirable.
One year experience in nursery/landscaping or agriculture required.
Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.
Welding experience strongly preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license (not required if PRN).
Mechanical aptitude and ability to work under stressful conditions.
May require night or weekend work as weather dictates.

Responsibilities

Performs regular grounds and landscaping maintenance (lawn mowing, trimming, leaves removal, weed control).
Assists with snow removal and ice melt application following snow plan.
Operates and maintains grounds equipment (tractors, mowers, blowers, etc.).
Maintains inventory of parts and supplies; troubleshoots equipment.
Provides preventive maintenance and minor repairs to equipment and street/parking lots.
Plant shrubs, trees, flowers; manage landscape signage and plantings.
