Carolinas Medical Center is hiring for a full-time Food Service role on the 2nd shift. The position supports hospital food service operations, supervising staff, coordinating meals, and ensuring safe, high-quality food production for patients and visitors.

Requires a High School Diploma, ~3 years in food service, and ServSafe certification within 1 year. Strong customer service and independent work ethic are essential in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Typically 3 years of experience in food preparation, service techniques, cashiering and sanitation standards in a hospital or large facility.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification to be obtained within 1 year.
• Strong customer service and communication skills to interact with a variety of people.
• Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.
• Must be self-directed and able to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Provide day-to-day work direction and supervise staff as needed.
• Assist with HR tasks including interviewing and new hire onboarding; address staff concerns.
• Monitor department operations; adjust schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Oversee food service staff and ensure quality production for internal and external customers.
• Resolve issues, handle customer complaints, and maintain sanitation and safety standards.
• Forecast food quantities for patients and cafeterias; manage inventory and purchasing as required.
