Job summary

Advocate Health in Sheboygan County is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant for the Food and Nutrition department. You will assemble patient and staff meals, deliver trays, and support cafeteria service and catering events following approved diet guidelines.

This role involves basic food preparation, sanitation, and daily reporting, with a schedule of 2 weekdays plus alternating holidays and weekends, 4:00pm-8:00pm or 11:30am-8:00pm.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge in hospital/healthcare food service.
• Ability to read and understand written and oral communications.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills; use of email and internet.

Responsibilities

• Assemble patient and mobile meals per diet guidelines.
• Load and transport food carts; deliver trays to rooms.
• Operate cafeteria service areas and handle cash register tasks as needed.
• Perform sanitation duties in kitchen/cafeteria; wash pots and dishes.
• Assist with catering events and display daily specials.
• Prepare snacks, beverages, sandwiches, and other patient items per recipes.
• Prepare and replenish supplies in retail/kitchen areas.
• Deliver and stock meals across nursing units and lounges.
• Monitor temperatures and ensure safe food handling.
