Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA seeks a dishwashing and kitchen assistant to support the main kitchen operations. You will complete setup, stock and sanitation of workstations, dispose of refuse, operate ware washing equipment and maintain clean, safe areas in patient and unit kitchens.

The role requires basic reading/writing English, understanding weights and measures, and the ability to lift 30 pounds and push/pull 300 pounds.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to carry out instructions and procedures that are standardized.
• Understanding of basic weights and measures.
• Understanding of basic mathematical functions.
• Ability to stoop and lift 30 pounds and push/pull 300 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Completes setup, stock and sanitation of workstations.
• Collects and disposes of all refuse per department policy; hand washes pots/pans.
• Cleans equipment including steam kettles, grills, ovens, carts, hoods and more.
• Stocks supplies; rotates items and ensures perishables are stored properly.
• Maintains clean, safe work area and reports hazards or equipment issues.
