Job summary

McPherson Hospital Inc. is seeking a Float Cook to support Breakfast, AM, and PM cooks and the AM clerk. You will learn multiple roles and help keep meals on schedule for patients and Meals-On-Wheels units.

The role requires teamwork, basic math, and effective communication in a fast-paced kitchen. This full-time position offers benefits including health insurance, a 403(b) plan, paid time off, and opportunities for growth within the hospital system.

Qualifications

• Some high schooling; must be at least 16 years of age, 18+ to operate kitchen equipment.
• Food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review menus for Meals-On-Wheels and hospital meals to prepare and organize services in a timely manner.
• Monitor adjustments in patient dietary information to update current records and adjust services accordingly.
• Coordinate and assist other kitchen staff with meal preparation, serving, and distribution for the Hospital and Meals-On-Wheels to support and ensure a productive work environment.
• Operate and monitor kitchen appliances to maintain temperature, environment, and food storage safety and prevent food waste.
• Execute and maintain a clean workspace to ensure a food safe environment.
• Assist in organizing and arranging delivered goods to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Work well under pressure and can multitask, abilities to switch tasks at a short notice.
