Job summary

McPherson Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Breakfast Cook to prepare, cook, and assist in cleaning and serving breakfast and lunch for patients, the Café, and Meals-On-Wheels. The role includes catering and desserts as needed and weekend/holiday coverage as required to support patient and staff satisfaction.

This full-time position offers a 5:30 am to 2:00 pm shift with a benefits package including medical/dental/vision, HSAs, retirement plan, earned time off, and more.

Qualifications

• Food service experience preferred, but not required.
• Must be a team player and work well in a team setting.
• Implements effective communication skills.
• Abilities to perform using basic mathematic skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews menus for meals and upcoming catering to ensure an organized and steady work environment.
• Monitors and regulates safe temperatures for prepared meals to prevent food waste and illness.
• Organizes and distributes meals to patients to create a welcoming and excellent patient care environment.
• Executes and maintains a clean workspace to prevent food waste, pest infestations, and practice infection control.
• Assists in organizing and arranging delivered goods to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
• Works well under pressure and can multitask.

Job Description: Breakfast Cook

The Breakfast cook prepares, cooks, and assists in cleaning and serving the breakfast and lunch meal for patients, the Café, and for Meals-On-Wheels. Prepares catering and desserts as needed to maintain patient, employee and visitor satisfaction and consumer demands for upcoming days. Other duties as assigned; may be required to prepare meals for patients and Meals-On-Wheels on weekends and/or holidays.
