Job summary

NMC Health in Newton, Kansas is seeking a Maintenance Specialist II to perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment within our Medical Center campus. This on-site role supports hospital operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and compliant environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare maintenance desirable.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC systems desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and work orders.
• Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds, and equipment
• Complete repairs and modifications related to electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
• Respond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot facility issues
• Maintain a safe and compliant environment by following all policies and regulations
• Assist with facility upkeep, inspections, and general repairs
• Document completed work and report ongoing maintenance needs
• Support department operations and complete additional duties as assigned
