Job summary
Jefferson Health is seeking a Mechanic Specialist to install, inspect, operate, repair and perform preventative maintenance on hospital facilities and mechanical systems. The role requires versatility across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations, and carpentry, with a focus on safety and regulatory compliance.
The candidate will monitor equipment, diagnose issues, order materials, and coordinate with other trades to complete projects.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; trade or vocational training preferred.
- Journeyman credential in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related trades.
- Philadelphia Class A or NJ Black Seal stationary engineer license (or equivalent) depending on division.
- Knowledge of electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, inspect, operate, and test hospital HVAC, electrical, plumbing and boiler systems to diagnose malfunctions and maintain operation.
- Conduct and oversee repairs and upgrades to hospital systems.
- Estimate and order materials needed for work projects.
- Possess working knowledge of other trades to coordinate projects.
- Perform work in accordance with established safety procedures and address regulatory deficiencies.
- Assist and/or perform work of other maintenance teams as needed.
