Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Operations Manager Engineering to lead the daily operations of the Facilities Maintenance Department. You will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient building management across campus.

Responsibilities include budgeting, supervising staff, coordinating with the Director of Facilities, and guiding projects with internal teams and external contractors. A strong background in healthcare facilities and CMMS is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with building codes, NFPA, and life-safety regulations.
• Experience with Joint Commission and CMS regulatory bodies.
• Experience in building maintenance.
• Experience with electric, plumbing, HVAC.
• Experience working with all levels within an organization.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• High level of proficiency with CMMS software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of Facilities Maintenance Department.
• Prepare and manage department budget and control expenditures.
• Coordinate with Director of Facilities on oversight.
• Assign work to Facilities Maintenance crew.
• Communicate issues to hospital departments and external contacts.
• Assist in oversight of projects with staff and external contractors.
• Plan infrastructure shutdowns due to construction.
• Enforce building codes, NFPA, environmental and life-safety regulations.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS standards.
• Provide leadership given campus size and scope.
