Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Current California Driver's License.
• Current and ongoing MVR insurable under CMH's coverage.
• 15 years of general maintenance experience—electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or mechanical equipment.
• 10 years of hospital maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal regulations.
• Ability to read plans and blueprints.
• Familiar with EMS, FAS, and CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Supervise engineering staff in operation and maintenance of facility systems (generators, boilers, chillers, HVAC, medical gas, vacuum).
• Establish and monitor departmental standards and procedures for compliance.
• Assign and review daily tasks and prioritize to support clinical needs.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality and safety.
• Serve as secondary contact for clinical staff regarding maintenance needs.
• Lead performance improvement activities.
• Assist in scheduling and shift coverage across hospital sites.
• Ensure fire and life safety compliance; provide 24/7 on-call support.
