Job summary

Miami Children’s Hospital is looking for a Manager of Facilities Operations to lead the technical and trades teams across all sites, ensuring reliable equipment operation and compliance with safety and environmental standards.

The role emphasizes development of preventive maintenance programs, energy management, and coordination with construction teams on capital projects, while maintaining regulatory accreditation and optimal hospital function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Electrical, mechanical engineering or closely related field plus 3 years of working experience of plant operations in a hospital environment with accreditation process or 5 years of working experience.
• DL - Driver's License Active and valid State of Florida driver’s license with an approved driving record pursuant to our policy and maintained throughout employment
• 4-7 years Plant operation supervisory experience in project management
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and oversees the technical, mechanical, and trades staffs that perform routine maintenance functions and highly specialized repair at all Miami Children's Health System sites.
• Develops, implements, and directs a preventive and corrective maintenance program to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operation of the entire physical plant and all related operating equipment.
• Establishes preventive maintenance schedules, prioritizes repair, and maintenance work to minimize disruption of hospital operations.
• Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring of department goals, policies, procedures, capital/operating budgets, assigned projects, and long-range plans.
• Manages the department’s maintenance management program to ensure it is kept up to date and in compliance with the requirements of the facility and all regulatory agencies.

Education

Bachelor's Degree Electrical, mechanical engineering or closely related field

Driver's License (Florida DL)

4-7 years Plant operation supervisory experience

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
