Job summary

Akron Children's Hospital is seeking an Operations Manager Engineering to oversee the daily operations of the Facilities Maintenance Department. You will manage budget, coordinate with the Director of Facilities, and guide staff to meet safety and reliability goals.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory knowledge, and CMMS proficiency in a healthcare setting. Onsite position with responsibilities across campus facilities and construction projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years supervising experience.
• Valid State driver’s license.
• Experience with building codes, NFPA and life-safety regs.
• Healthcare experience preferred.
• Proficient with CMMS software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the Facilities Maintenance department.
• Plan, manage and adhere to the department budget.
• Coordinate with the Director of Facilities on oversight.
• Assign work to Facilities Maintenance crew.
• Communicate issues to hospital departments and external contacts.
• Assist with projects with external contractors.
• Enforce building codes and life-safety regulations.
• Schedule infrastructure shutdowns for construction activities.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and CMS regulations.
• Provide leadership and develop staff.
