Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking an Operations Mechanic I to support hospital mechanical equipment and infrastructure, including chillers, compressors, PTAC units, BAS controls, medical air systems, and life-safety and electrical systems. Daily rounds ensure all building systems operate properly.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of training from a certified technical program, with a minimum of five years’ experience in commercial building

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of training from a certified technical school or program.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial building maintenance.
• Ability to perform preventative maintenance and respond to house calls.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Assists with repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing equipment and systems as directed by senior staff.
• Maintains routine records of inspections, preventative maintenance and repairs; understands electrical safety and lockout/tagout standards.
• Make scheduled rounds of building areas; inspect lighting fixtures to ensure proper function and identify regulatory deficiencies.
• Performs manual duties such as moving supplies and replacing light bulbs; general cleanup.
• Assigned to other duties in areas like air conditioning, carpentry, electrical, painting, and plumbing.
