Job summary

Tufts Medicine's Melrose/Wakefield Hospital is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to support hospital facilities. The role covers electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC and safety systems, with a focus on reliability and cost containment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and basic project work, reading blueprints and operating manuals. The position is full-time, on-site, with opportunities for growth and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of building maintenance experience.
• On the job training in one or more building trades.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical repairs such as replacement of switches, ballasts, motors and controls.
• Performs plumbing tasks including drains and fixtures maintenance.
• Conducts minor carpentry and repairs to doors, shelving, locks and fixtures.
• Repairs hospital equipment and systems and conducts preventive maintenance.
• Inspects and maintains lighting, safety equipment and hospital utilities.
