Job summary

Trinity Health MI is seeking a full-time Buildings & Grounds Technician for day shift in Michigan. The role involves installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining hospital machinery, equipment, furnishings and grounds under supervision of the Director or Supervisors.

Expect to work across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical systems, with focus on maintenance, emergency response and safety. Three years of building maintenance experience preferred; journeyman license to be obtained

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational school certificate.
• Journeyman's license in mechanical trade must be obtained within 6 months of start of position.
• Three years related working experience in building maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry and mechanics.
• Technical training in HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, Carpentry, Painting or Engine Repair.

Responsibilities

• Repair and replacement of plumbing components and irrigation systems; clean blocked drains.
• Repair and replacement of electrical components up to 120 V; no new installations.
• Maintain ceilings, walls, floors, hardware; keep grounds and facilities clean.
• Maintain, repair and install hospital equipment and furnishings; replace defective parts.
• Welding and soldering of sheet metal as required.
• Process material orders and use work order system to track time and materials.
• Snow and ice removal; ensure safe walking/driving conditions.
• Keep work areas neat and orderly; be available for on-call emergencies.
