Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a full-time Buildings & Grounds Technician to install, inspect, repair and maintain hospital machinery, equipment and furnishings. The role reports to the Buildings & Grounds leadership and requires versatile skills across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and mechanical trades.

You will work day shift in a hospital environment, respond to maintenance requests, perform routine upkeep, document work orders and participate in emergency readiness.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanics.
• Excellent customer service orientation required to interact with hospital staff, customers and community groups.

Responsibilities

• Repair and/or replacement of plumbing components and piping, including cleaning blocked drains; maintain irrigation systems.
• Repair and/or replacement of electrical components up to 120 V and below; no new installation work.
• Repair and/or replacement of building hardware (ceiling, walls, floors, doors); keep grounds, drives and parking areas clean; no new installations.
• Maintenance, repair, and installation of hospital equipment and furnishings; replace defective parts or unsafe components.
• Welding/soldering of sheet metal and other metal products as needed.
• Record time and material using the department work order system; ensure material orders are appropriate.
• Snow and ice removal; maintain safe walking/driving conditions.
• Maintain clean, orderly work areas.
• Be available for call-ins and on-call status during inclement weather or emergencies.
