Job summary

Palomar Health Rehabilitation Institute, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Maintenance Worker to help keep a 52-bed inpatient rehab hospital safe, clean, and compliant. You will perform maintenance and repair work across buildings, systems, and equipment to support daily plant operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, at least two years in maintenance (hospital setting preferred), basic computer skills, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience; hospital setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards and regulatory compliance preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and repair work to ensure the safety, functionality, and cleanliness of hospital buildings, systems, and equipment.
• Supports daily plant operations while contributing to regulatory compliance and facility improvement initiatives.
• Reports daily to the Director of Plant Operations regarding facility conditions and progress of assigned tasks.
• Supports the implementation of quality and productivity standards for equipment and building maintenance.
• Collaborates with other departments to schedule work, establish priorities, and coordinate materials and supplies.
• Performs maintenance and repair work, remodeling, minor construction, and equipment installations.
• Assists with facility fire and safety inspections and implements safety protocols in coordination with the Safety and Security Departments.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently and handle a variety of building systems and equipment.
