Job summary

Palomar Heights Post Acute is seeking a maintenance worker to keep grounds, facility, and equipment in safe, clean, and well‑functioning condition. You will follow schedules, report incidents, and coordinate with nursing staff during routine tasks in resident areas.

The role requires practical skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general mechanical work, plus the ability to work independently, follow directions, and protect resident privacy. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Maintain grounds, facility, and equipment in safe, efficient condition.
• Follow maintenance schedules for shifts/areas.
• Report accidents/incidents to supervisor.
• Coordinate daily maintenance services with nursing services in resident areas.
• Perform routine maintenance on plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical systems.
• Replace bulbs and clean fixtures as needed.
• Ensure equipment and areas are clean and properly stored.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
