Job summary

MercyOne Dubuque, part of MercyOne Health System, is hiring an evening shift Housekeeper to maintain a clean and safe hospital environment. You will handle routine cleaning for patient and non-patient areas, including rooms, bathrooms, and common spaces, with adherence to hospital standards.

Experience in janitorial work is preferred. Training on housekeeping chemicals and equipment is provided, with a focus on teamwork and patient-centered service.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial and cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be able to become familiar with use and care of housekeeping chemicals and equipment.
• Must be able to work with varying demands of the patient, public and other employees.
• Able to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with all members of the health care team.

Responsibilities

• Clean patient rooms and discharge units to meet hospital standards.
• Perform surface cleaning, floor care, carpet cleaning and moving equipment.
• Maintain clean office/ancillary areas and assist with supplies as needed.
• Report repairs to equipment, furniture, or fixtures as appropriate.
