Job summary

Cottonwood Creek Behavioral Hospital, part of Oceans Healthcare, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to maintain a clean, safe environment for patients and staff within a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities include cleaning patient rooms, public areas, and clinical spaces; adhering to infection control, safety, and de-escalation training; and supporting linen and waste handling in alignment with hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and write to read labels and containers of chemicals used, order supplies, and complete inventories.
• High school graduate preferred. Minimum six months hospital housekeeping or janitorial experience, or one year in a related position.
• Good communication skills and ability to supervise and work cooperatively with others.
• Initiative and judgment to lead housekeeping in maintaining an aseptically clean environment.
• Working knowledge of infection control, safety principles, and related training.
• Must complete CPR and Oceans-approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and sanitizes all facility areas per established policies.
• Disinfects patients' rooms and baths daily.
• Performs terminal cleaning after transfers or discharges 100% of the time.
• Cleans, dusts, sanitizes, and maintains nursing stations and non-patient areas daily.
• Maintains floors and carpets; cleans drapes; handles waste per procedures.
• Follow infection control procedures and universal precautions at all times.
• Manage linen flow; dispose of biohazard and other waste per procedures.
• Report broken equipment; submit work requests for repairs.
