Job summary

Steele Memorial Hospital is seeking an Environmental Services Technician to maintain a clean, safe and infection-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This role covers cleaning patient rooms, ORs, clinical areas and public spaces while supporting rapid room turnover and linen processing.

You will follow hospital policies, infection-control standards and PPE requirements, collaborating with nursing and other departments to ensure readiness and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Experience with hospital cleaning protocols preferred.
• Willingness to comply with PPE requirements and infection-control standards.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, exam rooms, ORs, restrooms, hallways, offices and common areas.
• Operate cleaning equipment safely and according to training.
• Support rapid turnover between patients and surgical cases.
• Restock supplies and maintain inventory in assigned areas.
• Dispose of regular and biohazard waste per hospital policy.
• Collaborate with nursing, surgery and other departments to meet cleaning needs.
