Job summary

Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital seeks an Environmental Services Technician on a temporary basis. The role involves daily cleaning of patient rooms, wards, lounges, and offices, using mops, vacuums, and other cleaning tools while following department procedures and hospital objectives.

Responsibilities include receiving and stocking supplies, assisting with discharges, maintaining inventory, and performing terminal cleaning per procedures.

Qualifications

• Environmental services/general housekeeping duties and processes experience.
• Preferred: disinfection processes and use of microfiber materials.
• Experience with Roto floor scrubber and power washer.
• Wet vac use experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties per housekeeping schedules and 7 Steps of Cleaning.
• Cleans patient rooms, offices, lounges, bathrooms, and other areas.
• Maintains proper isolation techniques related to Environmental Services.
• Handles cleaning equipment, supplies, and waste disposal.
• Receives, unpacks, and stocks supplies; ships materials as needed.
• Rotates within department and shifts; adheres to rules and regulations.
• Performs special projects for Materials Manager and department goals.
