Job summary

Centralus Health is seeking an Environmental Services Manager for Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls. This full-time daytime role leads EVS staff, ensures safe, clean patient areas, and collaborates with clinical teams to improve infection prevention and patient flow.

The position requires strong leadership, staffing management, and knowledge of cleaning and safety practices. Onsite duties with 8 AM–4 PM hours; occasional 24/7 oversight as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience leading EVS/housekeeping staff and managing schedules.
• Knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, chemical safety, PPE, and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Environmental Services operations across patient care, clinical, and public areas, ensuring consistent housekeeping, sanitation, room turnover, isolation cleaning, and terminal cleaning to support patient flow, safety, and infection prevention.
• Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop EVS staff and leads, maintain staffing coverage, manage call-outs and workload, and perform hands-on EVS duties when needed.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, environmental safety, infection prevention, and accreditation standards (Joint Commission, CMS, OSHA); reinforce cleaning and disinfection practices, PPE use, and safety protocols.
• Monitor quality and performance through inspections, audits, service metrics, and corrective actions; collaborate with Nursing, Infection Prevention, Facilities, and leadership.
• Manage resources and expenses (supplies, chemicals, equipment, inventory, labor) to sustain operations and quality.
