Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Materials Handling Attendant to receive, inventory, stock, issue, and distribute supplies and equipment across the hospital and office centers. The role emphasizes accurate ERP-driven transactions and responsive customer service.

Responsibilities include coordinating with nursing staff, inspecting essential carts and PPE, and assisting in the training of new staff. Shift is 2pm-10:30pm with rotating holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Read, write and understand English.
• Math skills to count, inventory and convert quantities.
• Excellent communication skills (phone and in person).
• Must practice excellent personal hygiene.
• Strong customer service attitude.

Responsibilities

• Respond to centralized equipment and supply requests.
• Use ERP platform for picking, delivering, issuing, receiving, inventorying and stocking.
• Process returns and restock, dispose of outdated items.
• Maintain high-quality customer service and professional demeanor.
• Report shortages to supervisor/manager.
• Inspect and prepare equipment for redistribution.
• Monitor locator system to locate equipment for patient needs.
• Coordinate with nursing staff to locate equipment when stock is depleted.
• Inspect Code Carts and maintain related inventory.
• Assist in training new Equipment Handling Attendants and orientation of staff.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
