Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals in Morgantown is seeking a Materials Handling Attendant to support inventory and distribution of supplies, equipment, and instrumentation across Surgical Services and hospital units. You will use Workday to pick, deliver, receive, inventory, and stock items, while maintaining accurate records and coordinating with SPD and Nursing staff.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Math skills necessary to count, inventory and convert quantities.
  • Excellent communication skills (phone and in person).
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to requests for supplies and equipment per policy.
  • Serve as initial contact for departmental inquiries from customers.
  • Perform Workday transactions: picking, delivering, receiving, inventorying, stocking.
  • Process returns and re-stock to correct bin; dispose of outdated items.
  • Maintain high quality customer service; communicate courteously.
  • Report stock shortages to Inventory Control Analyst or Supervisor.
  • Inspect Code Carts and related stock; support Code Cart Exchange Program.
  • Coordinate with SPD and Nursing to locate required centralized inventory.
  • Print and attach patient charge labels when applicable.
  • Train new Materials Handling Attendants on handheld devices.
  • Assist in training of new employees and onboarding.
