Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Day shift Housekeeper – Environmental Services Technician. The role cleans patient rooms and hospital areas, ensuring safety, infection prevention, and compassionate service for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities include waste handling, use of PPE, and following cleaning protocols for various units. Training completes within 30 days, with a focus on customer service and teamwork across the hospital. This is a full-time position with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Fluent English required to read, write and understand simple instructions in English.
• Must complete Departmental Training within the first 30 days of employment.
• Some experience in cleaning or healthcare environment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Perform full range of restroom and patient room cleaning following department protocols.
• Handle waste, recyclables, and regulated materials according to waste type guidelines.
• Properly use PPE and follow lifting techniques to ensure safety.
• Comply with hospital policies and infection prevention protocols.
• Operate UV light equipment safely and accurately.
