Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a dedicated staff member for linen and cleaning services. The role supports total cleaning of the Medical Center and related properties while maintaining strict sanitation standards for accreditation and licensure.

The position offers exposure to medication and supply rooms for cleaning purposes, with ongoing education and training as part of the role. OSHA training is required annually, and the job involves handling various cleaning tasks and equipment.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Perform tasks in accordance with written and oral instructions.
• Mandatory OSHA training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned tasks in accordance with written procedures, guidelines, directions, checklists, and verbal requests and instructions.
• Cleans and services units, rooms, areas, and facilities including showers, tubs, sinks, etc., following sanitation standards.
• Uses cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment including cloths, wall mops, floor mops, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and floor machines.
• Performs miscellaneous cleaning and service duties including cleaning surfaces, hanging curtains, supplying dispensers, and maintaining floor matting.
• Operates carts and transports soiled linen, trash, and medical wastes throughout the facility.
• Loads and unloads washers/dryers, handles soiled linen, and performs basic sorting and folding of linens.
