Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking a Facilities Cleaner to perform routine cleaning tasks within the Medical Center and related properties, ensuring sanitation standards align with Accreditation and Licensure requirements. This role may involve access to medication and supply rooms for cleaning purposes.

The position emphasizes following established procedures, operating cleaning equipment, and handling linen services to support patient care and facility operations.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Perform tasks in accordance with written and oral instructions.
• Mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done as required.
• Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.

Responsibilities

• Performs assigned tasks in accordance with written procedures, guidelines, directions, checklists, and verbal requests and instructions.
• Cleans and services units, rooms, areas, and facilities including showers, tubs, sinks, water/ice dispensers, counters, toilets, refrigerators, halls, stairways, walls, floors, ceilings, windows, elevators, patient beds, patient units, patient equipment, furniture of all kinds, operating suites, laboratories, procedure rooms, and offices.
• Uses cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment including cloths, wall mops, floor mops, vacuums, carpet cleaners, floor rotors, and automatic floor machines.
