Job summary

Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights, IL is seeking an Environmental Services Technician II to perform daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning, including isolation/terminal cleaning and equipment handling. Hours are 3pm–11:30pm, with weekends and holidays rotating, full-time 40 hrs/week.

This role requires high school graduation, basic body mechanics knowledge, and the ability to interact with staff and patients. On-call and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school graduate or equivalent.
• Hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with the correct use of body mechanics.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Strong communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Organizational skills to coordinate, prioritize and accomplish multiple work assignments.
• Ability to work on call and overtime, including all holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning in assigned areas per departmental and corporate standards; cleans isolation/terminal rooms and equipment in patient rooms.
• Uses cleaning chemicals safely and ensures proper labeling and handling of bottles.
• Maintains adequate supplies in assigned areas and handles sharps disposal; may access secured medication storage locations.
• Provides a positive customer service environment through teamwork and communication with the area manager.
• Observes and reports equipment or facility in need of repair daily.
• Follows Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
