Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking an Environmental Services Technician II at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. The role focuses on daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning, including isolation and terminal cleaning, with weekend/holiday rotation and an evening shift from 3pm to 11:30pm.

Responsibilities include maintaining clean equipment and carts, safe chemical handling, and ensuring supplies are stocked.

Qualifications

• Prefer high school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience with the correct use of body mechanics.
• Ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
• Communications skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
• Organizational skills to coordinate, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
• Ability to work on call and overtime including holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily patient room and ancillary area cleaning per departmental and corporate standards, including isolation/terminal cleaning of rooms and equipment.
• Dispose of soiled linens and garbage; ensure cleaning carts and equipment are clean and orderly.
• Utilize/prepare cleaning chemicals safely and cost-effectively; label bottles per safety specifications.
• Maintain adequate supplies of paper products, hand soap, and other materials.
• Access secured medication storage locations when authorized to perform job functions.
• Provide a positive customer service environment through teamwork, enthusiasm, and a professional attitude.
• Observe and report any repairs needed to equipment, furniture, fixtures, carpets, curtains, or walls.
• Follow all hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
