Job summary

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital is seeking a part-time Environmental Services worker to maintain a clean, safe hospital environment. The role provides evenings hours and rotates weekends/holidays, contributing to patient and staff satisfaction through attentive cleaning and waste handling.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekend/holiday rotation.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical areas, office spaces, corridors and stairwells.
• Handles various waste streams including municipal, recyclable, pharmaceutical, bio hazardous, chemotherapeutic waste and sharps.
• Wears standard PPE and adheres to isolation precautions when entering isolation rooms.
• Follows procedures for the proper use of cleaners and power equipment to protect floors and fixtures.
• Reports needed repairs according to policy and protocol.
• Gathers and properly disposes of clear bag and red bag waste.
• Operates waste disposal processes in line with regulatory requirements.
