Job summary

Geisinger Lewistown Hospital EVS team is seeking a part-time Environmental Services staff member for evenings. The role focuses on cleaning, disinfecting patient rooms and clinical areas while following strict safety and waste handling protocols.

Responsibilities include using proper PPE, handling hazardous waste streams, and contributing to a safe, clean environment that supports patient care and satisfaction.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Cleans and disinfects patient rooms, surgical suites, clinical areas and office spaces according to policy.
• Handles various waste streams including municipal, recyclable, biohazard and chemical waste.
• Uses PPE and isolation precautions as required; operates hospital-approved cleaners and equipment.
• Ensures correct signage and safety measures to prevent slips and falls; reports repairs as needed.
• Gathers and disposes of waste according to regulatory requirements; maintains infection control standards.
