Job summary

Merit Health Woman is seeking an Environmental Services Worker II to clean, sanitize, and maintain hospital facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors. You will perform floor care, waste removal, linen handling, spill cleanup, and general cleaning per infection control standards.

You will follow established procedures, support patient safety, and contribute to regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in environmental services or hospital facilities maintenance.
• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and floor care techniques.
• Familiarity with infection control standards and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Performs floor care tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, waxing, and shampooing surfaces.
• Collects, removes, and disposes of waste following hospital policies.
• Handles soiled linens and replaces with clean bags.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Responds to spills and contamination cleanups with proper disinfection.
• Moves furniture and equipment as needed for cleaning or relocation.
• Monitors cleaning supplies and ensures safe storage and usage.
• Communicates maintenance needs to supervisor or facilities.
• Maintains cleaning logs and documents completed tasks.
• Performs other duties and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
