The role involves cleaning patient rooms, transporting patients, handling specimens, and ensuring equipment is clean and ready for use, with opportunities to train new staff and contribute to hospital operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean patients' rooms and maintain nursing unit areas, including bed-making for unoccupied beds and disposal of needle boxes.
• Empty laundry hampers and keep corridors clear of obstructions.
• Transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher or bed; assist discharge and loading into vehicles; move equipment as needed.
• Deliver lab specimens, x-rays, lab reports and other items to support nursing care.
• Move and transport medical equipment on wheels and report maintenance needs.
• Wash, disinfect and prepare discharge rooms for new admissions.
• Maintain inventory and prepare orders for non-par stock items on the Nursing Unit.
• Assist in training new employees in day-to-day procedures and hospital policies.
• Address patient non-clinical needs as required.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
