Job summary

Care New England Health System is seeking an Environmental Services Technician at Butler Hospital in Providence, RI. The role maintains a sanitary, orderly area, cleans patient rooms and common spaces, and adheres to hospital service standards to support a safe patient environment.

You will operate cleaning equipment, handle waste disposal, stock supplies, and assist with bed moves and room turnover. Schedule is 40 hours per week with every other weekend and holiday shifts; on-the-job training

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• On the job training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a cleaning cart in an orderly condition and stock supplies.
• Removes waste including regular rubbish, cardboard, recycle and confidential paper.
• Follows procedures for hazardous waste disposal and handling.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms completely.
• Replenishes soap, toilet paper, hand sanitizer and towels.
• Disinfects assigned offices, corridors, elevators, stairwells and patient rooms.
• Performs cleaning projects like wall/window washing, floor scrubbing and carpet care.
• Operates heavy cleaning equipment and transports supplies as needed.
• Sweeps, mops, vacuums floors and moves furniture for room setups.
• Transports soiled/clean linens; assists with bed moves and turnover.
• Reports mechanical failures and completes work orders.
• Provides training to new or current staff when needed.
• Demonstrates compassion in daily interactions with patients, families, and visitors.
