Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD, is seeking a housekeeping teammate to maintain sanitary hospital areas under supervision. Responsibilities include cleaning, preparing supplies, and assisting with patient discharge room turnover, while following safety policies and providing courteous service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Ability to courteously greet and exchange information with patients, visitors and staff while performing housekeeping tasks.
• Knowledge of patient and workforce safety practices in job duties.

Responsibilities

• Assembles cleaning supplies and transports to work areas as instructed.
• Cleans assigned areas through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing and polishing; inspects cleanliness after completion.
• Prepares cleaning solutions per written label instructions.
• Performs routine discharge room cleaning and remakes beds with fresh linen.
• Notifies team leader of needed maintenance repairs.
• Cleans and stores equipment regularly.
• Logs tasks on Interserv per policy.
