Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a General Cleaner to perform a range of housekeeping duties throughout the hospital, maintaining a clean and sanitized environment. Tasks include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, polishing, dusting, and cleaning designated areas according to hospital procedures.

The role offers full-time evenings with rotating weekends in Environmental Services. You will operate vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, burnishers, buffers and other power equipment, stock

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to learn and perform basic housekeeping practices and follow hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily cleaning of assigned areas per hospital procedures.
• Operate vacuum cleaners and floor cleaning equipment.
• Stock and maintain housekeeping supplies.
• Prepare patient rooms for occupancy after discharge.
• Clean and sanitize patient and non-patient care equipment.
• Set up and clean meeting rooms.
• Dispose of trash and waste as needed.
