Job summary

Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) to work 7:00AM-3:00PM, including rotating weekends. Starting rate $18.50/hr.

Essential duties include cleaning and sanitizing patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas, stocking supplies, and safely handling regulated tasks. The role requires English literacy, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to apply elementary math functions and follow instructions.
• Ability to work well under time constraints.
• Lifts up to 50 lbs and stands for long periods; exposure to extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

• Checks EVS cart, ensures proper chemical supplies are stocked and labeled.
• Cleans and sanitizes floors, walls, patient rooms, bathrooms, and offices.
• Removes trash and transports linens to appropriate areas.
• Maintains safety practices for bloodborne pathogens, needle-stick prevention and OSHA regulations.
• Demonstrates positive attitude and teamwork; uses basic computer/email for navigation.
