Job summary

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Journeyman Electrician (E2) to install, service and maintain electrical distribution, fire alarm, security and energy management systems at Yale New Haven Hospital and affiliated facilities.

Position involves in-house electrical construction, adherence to codes and safety policies, and ongoing maintenance; requires 3–5 years of E2 licensed electrical experience and completion of a State-approved apprenticeship. Excellent teamwork with facilities teams is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus state-approved apprenticeship.
• Three to five years experience with an E2 license.
• Journeyman E2 License.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, installs, services and maintains the fire alarm system to ensure it is in working order.
• Lays out, installs, services and maintains the electrical distribution system for Yale New Haven Hospital and affiliated facilities.
• Lays out, installs, services and maintains the security system and Building Energy Management System interfaces to ensure proper operation.
• Performs in-house electrical construction projects in accordance with required code practices.
• Lays out, installs, and maintains wiring on all communication systems in the hospital complex to ensure compliance with codes.
• Installs, repairs, maintains and troubleshoots a variety of corrective maintenance work orders to meet code standards.
• Lays out, installs, services and maintains control systems throughout the hospital complex to ensure proper functioning.
• Demonstrates knowledge through daily use of safety policies and procedures, including MSDS, asbestos abatement and electrical safety.
