Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P or CCS credentials required.
• Must obtain AHIMA or AAPC credential within 1 year of hire.
• Working knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding required.
• 1–3 years CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Codes and abstracts professional fee hospital services per ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II and CMS guidelines.
• Maintain 95% coding accuracy as measured by quality reviews.
• Maintain daily productivity.
• Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines for hospital inpatient, observation, consultant, surgical, critical care and E&M services.
• Conduct educational sessions for medical staff on coding and documentation compliance.
