Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network is seeking a Physician Coder to code and abstract physician services in a hospital setting. You will ensure data quality through quarterly reviews and collaborate with Medical Records, Finance, and Physician Billing for accurate information flow.

Qualified candidates will have RHIA/RHIT/CPC/CCS-P credentials or be eligible to obtain them within one year of hire. Minimum CPT/HCPCS coding experience and knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years experience in CPT/HCPCS physician procedural coding.
• Proficient in ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and CMS guidelines.
• Eligible for RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCS-P or credential-eligible within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Codes and abstracts professional fee hospital services according to ICD-9/ICD-10, CPT-4, HCPCS II, and CMS guidelines.
• Maintain a 95% coding accuracy rate as measured through quality reviews.
• Maintain daily productivity as outlined.
• Perform data entry of abstracted physician information into specialty-specific databases.
• Conduct educational sessions to the medical staff for coding and documentation compliance.
