Job summary

Vitalant is seeking a Hospital Distribution Technician in Rosemont, IL to manage the inventory of blood and blood products and to package and ship orders to local hospitals. You will ensure accuracy and timely fulfillment while supporting Vitalant’s life-saving mission.

You will work a 7:00am–3:30pm shift, with on-call Saturdays and rotating holidays. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, valid IL driver’s license, and at least 6 months of customer service experience; lifting up to

• Prior healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prepare, and ship routing, ASAP and STAT orders of blood and blood products, conducting a visual inspection of each product prior to shipment to ensure order accuracy.
• Communicate with customers regarding order fulfilment, turnaround times, and product availability.
• Maintain accurate hospital service records for transactions and process fees.
• Monitor all storage requirements, service equipment and vehicle work areas.

What to Expect

Schedule:

Sun+Mon+Wed+Thurs+Fri 7:00am 3:30pm (Tues/Saturday Off)

On-Call Rotation for Saturdays Only

Rotating Holiday Schedule

Starting Pay: $18.37 - $19.88 based on experience
